Katharine Parham Malhotra is an education policy researcher and IES Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development. She is also a Senior Research Scientist with the Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE). Her work leverages both quantitative and qualitative methods to examine issues of equity in PK-12 education policies.
Previously, she worked as a federal policy analyst with the U.S. Senate Education Committee and policy fellow with the U.S. Department of Education. Her career in education began as a special education teacher and Assistant Principal in New Orleans.
She holds a Ph.D. in Education Policy from Columbia University, a Master's in Public Policy from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Political Science with honors from the University of South Carolina.
